FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -
This season, there will be a new man calling the shots when the Flowery Branch Falcons take the field. Chris Griffin is making the move up from defensive coordinator to head coach.
Griffin takes over for Lee Shaw, who left for Rabun County. He inherits a team that returns seven starters on offense and defense, and they'll move from class 4A to class 5A in 2012.
The Falcons open the season on August 31 at home vs. Northside-Warner Robins. Griffin says he feels no pressure heading into that game, or his first season as head coach.
