The FEMA regional headquarters in Atlanta was at a level three monitoring Isaac on Friday.
The FEMA team inside the offices on Chamblee Tucker Road is busy staying in constant contact with the National Weather Service and National Hurricane Center.
Officials here also are continuing to coordinate with local officials in Florida and other emergency management teams in the southeast.
Supplies already in place at the Jacksonville staging area include bottled water, cots and blankets.
FEMA urges Floridians and other Gulf Coast residents to continue to monitor conditions.
Metro Atlanta American Red Cross employee Ruben Brown is one of hundreds of Red Cross employees and volunteers already in Florida.
He said on Thursday that a caravan of nearly two dozen emergency response units were deployed to the sunshine state with dozens more on standby.
The Red Cross is also there identifying facilities that can be used as shelters if necessary.
