The first round of weekly awards was handed out by the Touchdown Club of Atlanta on Monday.
Walton Raiders running back and Alabama commit Tyren Jones was named the back of the week, while the lineman of the week was Greg Taboada of the Marist School.
Greg said that the big talk on campus this week is the first ever meeting between Marist and Lovett this Friday night.
Coaching great Gene Stallings spoke to the audience about what makes his profession so special -- it's the people according to him.
One of his former players, Grayson head coach Mickey Conn was in attendance. Conn also coached with Stallings at Alabama.
Beginning next week, FOX 5's Ken Rodriguez will be anchoring his sportscast live on location at the Hudson Grille every Monday night for the Touchdown Club of Atlanta meetings.
Next week's guest is John Stephenson of the College Football Hall of Fame.
