Teen face charges in death of Buford football star

ATLANTA (AP) - A teenage driver has been charged in the death of a former Buford High School football star stemming after a fatal collision last month.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/Syendx ) reports that 18-year-old Caylie Edge of Lawrenceville was charged with vehicular homicide and failure to yield. Police say Edge turned her Chevrolet Trailblazer in front of a motorcycle rode by Devin Durden, causing a wreck that led to Durden being thrown from his bike.

The 21-year-old Durden, who had played tight end at Air Force Academy, sustained multiple broken bones and a severed spine from the Sept. 26 collision. Durden died Thursday.

Jail records show Edge was released Thursday from the Gwinnett County Jail after posting a $32,450 bond.

Durden's funeral will be held at First Baptist Church on Sunday in Buford.
